The documentary film Heavy Heart observes how the music in Roma communities is passed down from one generation to the other, or on the contrary, how it is dying out. Tomáš’s father works in the U.K. and is ,there- fore, unable to teach his son how to play the guitar. Erik, a teenager, flees from his father’s sad songs into the wild environment of the Roma settlement. Ďoďo, who adores his grandmother, is the only one who learns what is truly necessary, how to live and how to sing. These three short stories feature authentic performances of songs from the ethnomusicological research of ancient Roma lament songs. (2014-2017)
